About this work
A black-and-white engraved print titled Jesu fødsel shows the Nativity, with the Virgin Mary seated beside the infant Jesus in a manger. Joseph stands at left, shepherds kneel and approach with a staff and a basket of fruit, and winged angels fill the sky above, while a hillside with shepherds and sheep appears at right. The print was published by Brødr. Backhausen and dated 1889.
