About this work
A stylized branch with orange-brown leaves and clusters of red berries arcs diagonally across a composition of dark vertical bands and a pale grey, bubble-like pattern at the base. The flat colour blocks and linear outlines suggest a design plate from Seiei; A Design Book, by Yamada Naosaburō, dated 1907.
