About this work
A small oval etching shows Saint Demetrius, marked by a halo, pressed against a stone pillar while robed companions with halos stand near him. On the right, armed figures raise clubs in a street scene. The print is Jacques Callot's illustration for August 9th from Les Images De Tous Les Saincts et Saintes de L'Année.
