About this work

An oval etching shows a standing abbot with a halo, reading an open book, against a cityscape with towers on the left and a hillside with a cross and two small figures on the right. The inscription reads S. Romaricus Abbas and the number 8 with Decem, matching the December 8th entry in Jacques Callot's series Les Images de Tous les Saincts et Saintes de l'Année.
