About this work
A Japanese woodblock print titled Okabe by Utagawa Hiroshige, dated 1855, from the Library of Congress. It shows a misty mountain rising above a winding road where travelers in traditional dress walk past a thatched roadside hut and steep wooded banks. The cartouches and red seal marks frame the scene in the manner of the Famous Places of the Sixty-odd Provinces series.
