About this work

This woodblock print shows the Nihonbashi bridge arching over a blue canal, with snow-covered roofs lining the banks and small boats moving beneath the bridge's wooden piers. Pedestrians cross the bridge, and Mount Fuji rises in the distance above a line of trees and buildings. The work is by Utagawa Hiroshige and dated 1836, from the Library of Congress collection.

Print shows pedestrians crossing bridge over river, boats on the river, during winter, after a snowfall, with view of Mount Fuji in the distance.
