About this work
This is a faint etched print on cream paper, showing a crowd of figures and masked faces gathered along the lower edge beneath a large empty sky. A small standard or pole rises near the center, with a horse-like form visible among the figures. The work is attributed to James Ensor, dated 1934, and titled De processie van Gistel.
