About this work

This etching shows a woman lying with her head turned in profile, eyes closed, and one arm extended across the lower right of the plate. Loose hatched lines and scattered plate-tone specks give the sheet a soft, dreamy surface. The print is signed in pencil in the lower right margin with the artist's name and the date 1887.
