About this work

This mythological scene shows a nude female figure standing in a large scallop shell, surrounded by sea nymphs and mischievous cherubs in an underwater setting. A winged figure and a dolphin-like creature with cherubs riding it appear at the right, and a group of swimming figures fills the distant background.
