This engraved print shows St Peter and St John standing on a raised platform in an arcaded interior, addressing a group of seated and kneeling figures who listen attentively. A book rests on a lectern in the foreground, and a Latin inscription beneath the image reads that they came to their own people and reported what had happened to them. The work is attributed to Maarten van Heemskerck and dated 1558.
