A hand-coloured pen and ink caricature showing a fashionably dressed dentist holding a mirror while a patient in a yellow gown and a seated man in dark clothing are attended to in an elegant room. Wall placards advertise a dentist to the Empress of Russia and offer money for live teeth. The work is signed Rowlandson and dated 1787, and was published by Wm. Holland in London.
