About this work
This etching shows a triton with a fish tail blowing water from a conch shell, while a nymph sits draped across a scrolled dolphin-like form beneath cascading water. A putto and rococo scrollwork frame the scene within an arched composition. The print is attributed to François Boucher and dated 1736, with the publisher credited as Huquier.
