About this work
A hand-colored etching shows a plump woman in a black plumed hat and dotted white dress, holding a sword and a bundle of cloth, while a grinning man in a red cap peers at her from the right. Boots hang on a stand at left beside a green and yellow canopy. Thomas Rowlandson made this print in 1811 for the publisher Thomas Tegg.
