This etching shows a busy harbor scene with steamships and sailing vessels clustered on calm water, dark smoke rising from one of the steamers, and flocks of seagulls skimming the surface in the foreground. Smaller ship studies are sketched around the border of the plate. The work is Le Port aux Mouettes (Port with Seagulls) by Félix-Hilaire Buhot, dated 1886.
