Félix Buhot found many of his subjects close to home, around the boulevard de Clichy in Montmartre. His prints of the city and the sea are about weather, especially mist and fog. Boat trips to England led to two prints from 1879, A Pier in England and Landing in England. After his first one-man show, organized by the New York dealer Frederick Keppel in 1888, he found support in the United States. He died in 1898.
