About this work
This etching shows two figures reclining on a curved ledge, one an older bearded man gesturing with an open hand and the other a younger figure leaning on a tall stone slab and pointing upward. The fine hatching and drapery studies suggest an academic figure study. The print is titled The Two Prophets, is attributed to Jean-Honoré Fragonard, and is dated 1764.
