About this work
This hand-coloured print shows a view of Thun with its churches, towers and rooftops set beside a lake and fields, with a rugged mountain range rising behind. Two women in traditional dress stand on a path in the foreground beneath trees. The print is attributed to David Alois Schmid, with the caption 'Thoun vers le Niesen et le Stokhorn' and publication details for Keller & Pfenninger in Zurich.
