About this work
A pencil drawing shows a seated female nude turned three-quarters toward the viewer, one arm raised and the other resting on her thigh, with loose construction lines around the figure. The sheet is a Drawing dated 1896 and attributed to Kenyon Cox, held in the Wikimedia Commons collection. The faint secondary contours and the word "Sculpture" written at the bottom suggest it was made as a study for a sculptural work.
