A handwritten letter on cream paper, dated Rome, April 18th, 1911, from 34 Porta Pinciana, is signed by Elihu Vedder. Below the signature is an ink bookplate drawing of an owl with the words "His Book" and "Rome 1911", made for Ruthven Deane.
