About this work

A hand-coloured aquatint shows a formal boardroom with a group of men in period dress seated around a green-topped table, while one standing figure addresses them near a large globe and a wall clock. The room has classical columns, a marble fireplace, a patterned carpet, and rolled charts displayed on the right wall. This print of the Board Room of the Admiralty was published in London in 1808 after Thomas Rowlandson.
