About this work
This glazed porcelain group shows a young man in a green tunic and pink breeches leaning over a reclining, partly nude woman who raises her arm while he works at a ribbon binding her wrist. A broken tree stump decorated with painted flowers rises behind them, and the figures are finished with gilt edges on their draperies.
