About this work

An engraved print set in a wooded landscape, showing a bearded divine figure bending over a reclining male nude while a lion, a unicorn, a peacock, a porcupine and other creatures rest or move around them. In the background a female figure and a child stand near the trees, and a grouped herd of animals grazes beyond. The composition carries Latin inscriptions beneath it, and the design is credited to Maerten de Vos with engraving by Johann Sadeler.
