About this work
A pen and wash drawing shows an elderly, balding man in spectacles and a high collar, bent over a desk and writing with a quill. Handwritten inscriptions beneath read "Tho.s Rowlandson aged 70" and a note stating it was drawn from his old friend in the Print Room of the British Museum on June 15th, 1824, signed John Thomas Smith.
