About this work

This etching shows two young boys resting on the ground beside a tree, one reclining with his head on the other's lap while a wide-brimmed hat lies near them. A wooden footbridge crosses water at the left, and birds fly in the upper left sky. The work is credited to François Boucher as designer, with a sculpted attribution to his wife in the lower margin.
