About this work

An engraved print shows a bearded, haloed figure in flowing robes holding a large X-shaped cross and an open book, with soldiers crucifying a figure in the background. A walled city with a tower and boats along a shoreline appears at the left. The inscription beneath reads S. Andreas and a Latin dedication to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten.
