A sheet of pencil and watercolor studies shows several soldiers in military uniform, including front and rear views of a figure in a long greatcoat with knapsack and cross belts. Two painted figures in green coats and tall shako hats stand beside them, with a rifle, a hat, and a shako sketched in the upper area. Handwritten annotations in French and a caption referring to Courtray, Belgium, and the year 1832 appear on the sheet, attributed to Denis Auguste Marie Raffet.
