About this work
A hand-coloured etching titled The Wonderful Pig by Thomas Rowlandson shows a black pig wearing a yellow collar, arranging lettered cards on the floor while a crowd of well-dressed onlookers watches. The printed inscription announces the pig as a perfect arithmetician, and the publisher line reads S. W. Fores, No. 3 Piccadilly, dated April 12, 1785.
