About this work

A hand-coloured view of the Jesuit boarding school and women's convent in Brig, shown with a multi-storey building, onion-domed towers and a formal garden with a fountain in the foreground. Pale mountains rise behind the complex under a blue sky, and small figures walk along the gravel paths. The printed caption in German and French identifies the subject as the pensionnat of the Jesuits and women's convent at Brig.
