About this work
This watercolor depicts a view of the town of Chur seen from the northeast, with its rooftops, church towers and city walls spread across a valley. Steep wooded slopes and rocky cliffs frame the scene, while vineyards, grazing cattle and sheep and two figures occupy the foreground. The work is attributed to David Alois Schmid and is held in the Collection Gugelmann.
