About this work
A hand-colored aquatint-style print shows the city of Geneva seen from the northeast across a wide lake, with a dense row of buildings and a tall church tower on the far shore. Foreground trees frame a path where two figures, a horse with a load and a dog walk, while small sailboats dot the water beneath soft mountains and clouds. The work is titled Genève, drawn by David Alois Schmid and engraved by J. Meyer.
