About this work
This etching shows a young woman in a light headscarf turned three-quarters toward the viewer with her eyes lowered. Dense, loose hatching models the shadowed side of her face and the heavy folds of her dark garment, while the background is left mostly open. The work is titled Dalecarlian Girl, produced by Anders Zorn in 1891 as a print.
