About this work

This 1918 print by Anders Zorn, titled Najads, shows two nude female figures reclining close together against a densely hatched dark ground. The figures are rendered as luminous pale forms, with their limbs entwined and their heads turned in opposite directions, while the lines of the surrounding water surface create a tonal contrast. The signature appears in pencil in the lower right corner of the sheet.
