About this work

An elderly bearded painter in a dark coat and red slippers leans toward a large canvas on an easel, brush in hand, while a nude child model stands with his back to the viewer beside it. Brushes rise from a ceramic vase at left, and a small glass bottle sits on the polished floor in this studio interior.
