A painted profile portrait of a young boy in a straw hat with a peacock feather tucked in the band, blowing bubbles through a wand against a pale blue background. The loose, visible brushwork and warm skin tones contrast with the translucent bubbles drifting at the right edge. The painting is signed Paul Peel and dated 1884 in the upper left corner.
