About this work
A hand-colored lithograph titled L'Avarice, dated 1824 and attributed to Louis-Léopold Boilly, shows an elderly man clutching a red box while a woman in a plaid headscarf leans over him beside a table with scattered gold coins and a money bag. The mounted print is set on a brown card with a green inner border and carries the artist's signature and a printer's credit in the lower corners.
