About this work
An engraved print titled L'automne shows a courting couple seated beneath a large tree, framed by an ornate rococo border of scrollwork, shells, and a central medallion with a portrait bust. Birds perch at the upper corners and a bundle of crossed arrows with grapes and vine leaves decorates the lower section. The inscription credits A. Watteau as the painter and F. Boucher as the engraver, with Laurent Cars named as publisher.
