About this work
An etched print titled Le boyau shows a line of helmeted soldiers moving through a narrow, shadowed trench, with rifles raised above their shoulders. The foreground soldier gestures outward while glancing sideways, and the cross-hatched walls press in around the group. The work is by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen and dated 1917.
