This hand-colored print shows a crowded nighttime fair with illuminated booths and a large signboard reading Richardson. Dense groups of figures in early nineteenth-century dress fill the foreground, while swings, a carousel and tall buildings frame the scene under a cloudy sky. Thomas Rowlandson made this plate in 1808 as part of the Microcosm of London series.
