A lithograph by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, dated 1917, shows an old bearded man in a cap cradling a child or companion on the ground while two figures walk across a bleak snowy plain. Surrounding the central scene are smaller studies of faces, a pack mule, a walking figure with a staff, and a group of women in headscarves.
