About this work

A pen and wash caricature shows three exaggerated, bewigged men examining art in a crowded gallery hung with ornate gilt-framed paintings. One man peers through a magnifying glass while another gestures animatedly, and a woman in a bonnet watches from the right beside a skull and a classical urn.
