About this work
An engraved townscape showing the town of Lugano seen across a lake, with a row of buildings along the waterfront and a church tower rising among them. Two covered boats with passengers float on the water, a figure fishes from the rocky shore at left, and wooded mountains rise behind the town under a cloud-filled sky. The print is by David Alois Schmid and bears the title Vue de la ville de Lugano with a Zurich publisher's imprint.
