About this work
An engraved print titled Jonas Sortant de la Baleine, showing the prophet Jonah kneeling on a rocky shore with an arm outstretched while a whale with an open jaw and raised tail churns the surf beside him. A stormy sky hangs over a distant coastal town with sailboats on the water, and the dedication cartouche at the foot is dedicated to Monsieur de Mongeroux.
