About this work

This engraved print shows a large crowd of robed and armored figures gathered on a raised terrace, with a central warrior holding a spear and a figure reading from a scroll. A shadowy, tumultuous realm of writhing figures appears on the right, contrasted with luminous clouds and celestial figures above on the left.
