About this work

A hand-coloured print from Thomas Rowlandson's "World in Miniature", plate 32, shows a village street with a horse-drawn carriage of passengers, pigs and poultry wandering the road, and a stout seated man attended by a woman with a basket. A milestone reads "4 Miles and 3 Furlongs from Charing Cross" (as legible) and the publication line references R. Ackermann, 101 Strand, dated 1 September 1816.
