About this work
A hand-colored etching titled Plate 22 from World in Miniature by Thomas Rowlandson shows a stagecoach loaded with passengers drawn by galloping horses past the ruined stone walls of a castle. Pedestrians, a rider on horseback, a small gig with a driver and passenger, and sailing boats along the water fill the scene. The sheet bears the publication line noting it was published at R. Ackermann's in July 1816.
