About this work
A hand-coloured etching showing a busy village street in front of the Dolphin Inn, where a yellow stagecoach with passengers on its roof stands beside a sign reading Greenwich and Woolwich Coaches. Crowds of townspeople, children, and a woman with a basket gather along the road, while another coach travels in the distance beneath a domed church. The print is Plate 19 from Rowlandson's World in Miniature series and was published June 1, 1816, by R. Ackermann at 101 Strand.
