About this work

A river scene shows a stone arched bridge crossing the Seine, with a steamboat on the left and small moored boats along the right bank. Church spires and city buildings rise behind the trees under a pale, cloudy sky. The work is rendered in pencil with watercolor washes in muted blues, yellows and ochres, and is signed and dated 1924 by Paul Signac.
