About this work

A hand-coloured caricature shows well-dressed men harnessed like horses, hauling a yellow and red gig while a driver with a whip sits in the carriage. Two onlookers in blue and brown coats comment in speech bubbles, asking whether the hauling figures are men or horses. The print was created by Thomas Rowlandson and dated 1801.
