About this work

A hand-colored etching shows crowned, caricatured figures rowing a barge marked Treasury Barge along a river, with speech scrolls rising above them. A smaller boat trails behind with a seated figure in a feathered headdress, and a flag bearing a swan and the motto Devil take the hindmost is raised at the stern.
