About this work
A hand-coloured etching shows a comic domestic scene in which a nurse holds a candle over a wicker cradle holding a swaddled infant, while a stout man in yellow breeches gestures with a steaming bowl and a servant in a blue coat holds another vessel beside a green folding screen. A tall case clock and gilt-framed mirror furnish the interior, and an inscription in the lower margin gives the title and the attribution to Henry Bunbury.
